ORPHAcodes Video available in Dutch
Our video about ORPHAcodes and the RD-CODE project is now available in Dutch here!
The Belgian rare diseases team, of which the members of Orphanet Belgium are part, took charge of the translation into Dutch of the ORPHAcodes video developed as part of the RD-code project. So far, this video was only available in English, Czech, German, French, Italian, Romanian and Spanish. Even though the primary target audience (health professionals) may know English well enough to understand the original video in English, the Belgian Rare Disease team thinks it is important that this video is available in the three national languages of our country (FR, NL, DE), in order to raise awareness in any other audience who might not be familiar with the English language. Moreover, this video can of course be used by our colleagues in the Netherlands.
SokFok studio, which had already carried out the translations of the other languages, was contacted on the recommendation of the Orphanet coordinating team. The Belgian team translated the original script from English to Dutch, by making sure to respect a maximum number of words imposed by the duration of the video. A first version of the video was provided, which we asked to rework in order to improve the synchronization of the oral commentary with the images. The final video is available on the RD-code website and on the Orphanet’s Youtube channel. We thank Ana Diaz of SokFok studio for the fruitful collaboration as well as our sponsor – the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (a federal public agency that organizes healthcare in Belgium) – that contributed to the financing of this initiative.”
